Benteke is ill-suited to be the main forward in this sort of attacking setup. In contrast to the sorts of forwards who thrived under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund — such as the jet-heeled Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marco Reus, as well as complete striker Robert Lewandowski — Benteke would much prefer service via a long pass lofted forward, or a high-arcing cross.
